Motif:
Motif use my word is an element always shows in one film and make audience keep looking on.
It could be an object ,a word , an action or a partten. It's really important to develop the main theme of a film.
SO i choose a movie called "FROM HELL"which act by Jonney Deep.It's a really good movie and easy to find the motif.I will show you below. ^^
Motif 1: Scalpel
Scalpel is a thin straight knife used in oprations. It has meaning of precise ,and strict also means bloody and danger I think. "From Hell"is a film which talking about a fine arrengement murder.In my opinion, Scalpels give us a massage is perfessional murder and bloody. Here is the picture.
Motif 2: Eye
Eye in our life is very nomal thing, it has meaning like trust or see something. It appears many times after the murder happen. I think it leave the information about want to see the truth and .Truth must and will be come out. Here is the pictures in the movie.
Motif 3: Blood
Blood is quilt a lot in this film. It's shows us the theme of this film-murder and violence.
Becouse of the shor is too bloody and disgasting, For your health i didn't cathch the pictures. ~(^O^)~
Motif 4 : Green light
In this film, Befor ever decedent been killed,There will be a carriage with green ligth come and pick the decedents. Green light, sometimes we think it's the light's from the HELL, so i think this motif is really good to show the film and show us the name of the film"From Hell".
Motif 5: Grapes When every decedent was been killed, grapes will apear. It makes people confuse what is grapes mean and why grapes. For me, I think it means a planed murderand it's symal of muderer. Becouse in that time, only loyalty peaple have enough money to buy grapes . Of cause ,at the end of film they give us a good explain of grapes. It's means heart.
Motif 6: Logo
At the beginning,This logo show a few times and at the end of film, it shows again. It tell us it's an organization. And at the end of movie shows murderer is really an organization. So in deeply it's telling this logo is not juest means organizition. Sometimes means revenge .like this movie.
There are many mofits in the films leading us going into it. And in this film these motif all tell us the theme is bloody, violence ,murder ,kill. On the other hand, some symbols show the title for the film "FROM HELL" secretly.For example, the green light, and in film the actors said many times "Hell".
